The Washoe County School District Board of Trustees is meeting on Tuesday to elect new board leadership and also consider a contract for a new elementary school on the current Pine Middle School site on Neil Road.
The 2 p.m. public meeting will be held at the WCSD Administration Building at 425 E. Ninth Street in Reno.
The WCSD says the new Board leadership will include the president, vice president, and clerk for the 2026 calendar year.
As for the new school contract, it's part of the Facilities Modernization Plan. The WCSD says the project would replace the existing middle school building with a new elementary school on the site. The new school is anticipated to open August 2028 with construction completed by May 2028.
