The SPCA of Northern Nevada partnered with Heal House Call Veterinarian and the Dave and Cheryl Duffield Foundation to host a free drive-through vaccination and microchip clinic for dogs and cats on Sunday, September 29.
The clinic will be held at the Reno Livestock Events Center located at 1350 N. Wells Ave. Gate 2 which is on the Wells Ave. side of the complex from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The free clinic will offer the following vaccinations rabies, DAPP (dogs), FVRCP (cats), and microchips to all northern Nevada residents (proof of residency is required).
The clinic is limited to 1,000 pets and will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.
All dogs must be kept on a leash and cats will need to be in carriers.
The SPCA says all participants must enter through Gate 2 on Wells Ave., remain in their car, and follow directions given by staff on-site.
The SPCA says that the clinic hopes to increase vaccination rates for pets and establish a Veterinary-Client-Patient relationship for families struggling, ensuring a continuity of care through affordable, community-based partners that have partnered for the event such as PetCo Love, Washoe County Regional Animal Services, PetSmart Charities, Boehringer Ingelheim and Options Veterinary Care.
