It’s not every day that Reno breaks records for amount of rainfall, but indeed we did on Tuesday. In fact, Reno saw a quarter of an inch of rain on Tuesday alone. This breaks the old daily record .17” set back in 1907. This is not the most rain Reno has ever seen in one day, but it does break the record for the day itself.

Rain totals varied quite a bit over the past several days, with higher amounts reported in the Sierra. Thunderstorms can be heavy rain producers, or they can be very dry in our area. Thankfully we did get some rain out of them, but the challenge is always to get the rain lined up perfectly with the lightning. A couple inches of snow was also reported on Monday near Incline Village.
