While it’s not as hot in Reno as Las Vegas, it is normal for Reno to reach triple digits during the summer. The thirty year average between 1991-2020 is six, but we’ve seen way more than that in years past. So far, Reno has only made it up to 100 degrees one time this year, but it’s possible by the weekend too.
2021 was a hot year with 22 triple digits days reported. The same thing happened in 2022 as well. Thankfully 2025 wasn’t too hot with several triple digit days, but 2024 was hot as well with 21 triple digit days on the calendar. 2018 was brutal as well with twenty days in the triple digits. Prior to 2018, we saw around half that back through 1995.
September of 2022 was unusually hot with eight days in the triple digits. July was the same in 2021 and 2022 with thirteen days in the triple digits. Great for swimming, but not to work in. Highs this time of year are in the lower to mid 90’s. June 7th is the earliest triple digit day on record in Reno, and September 8th is the latest.
