During the course of the investigation, police say it was learned the 14-year-old boy had brought knives to school on the days leading up to the incident with the intent to initiate an altercation with another student.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada joined those pressing school district officials in Reno Thursday for more information about the circumstances and policies that led to a campus officer shooting a 14-year-old boy in a high school courtyard a week ago.
The Washoe County District Attorney's Office has released its report on the 2016 officer-involved shooting at Hug High School, calling the shooting justified and not a criminal act.Â
