Storey County in western Nevada...
South Central Washoe County in western Nevada...

* Until 615 PM PDT.

* At 315 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Reno, Sparks, Hidden Valley, Damonte Ranch, Lockwood, Reno-Tahoe
International Airport, Mustang.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

FLASH FLOOD...RADAR INDICATED

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT THE EASTERN SIERRA AND WESTERN
NEVADA THROUGH 515 PM PDT...

At 310 PM PDT, strong thunderstorms continue to develop across the
eastern Sierra and western Nevada. These storms will increase in
coverage northward through the late afternoon.

HAZARD...Wind gusts 40 to 50 mph, up to penny size hail, heavy
rainfall with the potential for flash flooding, and blowing
dust downwind of dry sinks and playas.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding, debris flows
and flooded roads. Blowing dust could lower visibility and
make travel dangerous.

Reno, Carson City, South Lake Tahoe, Fallon, Mammoth Lakes, Chalfant,
Crowley Lake, Sonora Pass, Gardnerville, Virginia City, June Lake,
Pyramid Lake, Lee Vining, Twin Lakes, Lahontan Reservoir, Incline
Village, Toms Place, Bodie, Benton, and Bridgeport.

* IMPACTS...Rock, mud, debris flows on recently burned slopes.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 258 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in Bug and Stallion Fires.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Spanish Springs, Virginia Peak, Stead, Nixon, Cold Springs
Valley, Sun Valley and Stead Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Recent burn areas are more prone to flooding, debris flows, and rock
falls. Plugged culverts, rocks and debris on roads, and water and mud
over roads are common during moderate to heavy rains. Increased
sediment and debris can lead to impacts in areas typically not prone
to flooding. Use extra caution when traveling in or below recent burn
areas. Impactful flooding and debris flows may be generated by 15
minutes or less of heavy rainfall.

THURSDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...A portion of western Nevada, including the following area,
Greater Reno-Carson City-Minden Area. This includes the Bug and
Stallion Fires.

* WHEN...From 2 PM PDT this afternoon through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in rock, mud, and debris
flows in and near active fire perimeters, steep terrain, and poorly
drained urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Heavy rain from thunderstorms primarily during the afteroon and
evening hours today and Thursday.
