Pet of the Week: Viola

Because the SPCA of Northern Nevada is closed in the pandemic, shelter officials put all of the animals in foster homes.

Andrew Fickert is one of these foster parents, who is fostering 3-year-old Viola, a very lovable and friendly Australian Cattle Dog Pit-bull Mix.

Fickert has been fostering Viola for three weeks now, and says she is a very high-energy dog, who loves to play and go on walks. He says she gets along very well with both cats and dogs, as well as kids over 12 years old.

Fickert says he's really enjoyed fostering Viola.

"It's been a really rewarding experience. I think the best part is that Viola got to be in a home for quite some time," said Fickert.

The SPCA provides foster parents with all of the food and necessary animal health care. There's also an email and an emergency phone number at available at all times.

Fickert says the SPCA is always looking for potential foster parents, even not during times of crisis.

If you are interested in adopting Viola, you can set up a meet and greet with Andrew Fickert to see if Viola is the right fit for you.
