Chain controls are up for some mountain pass roads on Christmas evening.
- Chains are required on I-80 westbound from Kingvale to Donner Lake Interchange and eastbound from Donner Lake Interchange to Rainbow.
- Chains are up on US-50 over Echo Summit between Twin Bridges and Meyers.
Highway 267 between Northstar Ski Resort and Kings Beach in Tahoe reopened after multiple spin outs closed the roads down. Chain controls are up over the grade there too.
Officials want to remind drivers that chain control speed limit on I-80 is 30 miles per hour, while the speed limit for US-50 is 25 miles per hour.
