A nearly 17-acre wildfire is now under investigation near Smith Valley in Lyon County.
The Artesia Fire started near Artesia and Mason Pass Roads around 8 p.m. Sunday.
Lyon County Fire Protection District says 20 mph winds helped push the fire, and critical fire weather is expected in the area Monday.
Officials say four engines, three water tankers and three chief officers responded from Lyon County Fire Protection District, Smith Valley Fire Department, Mason Valley Fire Department and East Fork Fire Protection District.
The Bureau of Land Management also assisted with the fire response.
