A lawyer for B.B. King has released statements on behalf of two of the blues legend's closest business associates, including an aide who was with King when he died.
Attorney Brent Bryson said Friday that King's business manager of 39 years, LaVerne Toney, wanted to express her sorrow about King's death and thanks to fans for an outpouring of thoughts, prayers and well-wishes.
Bryson tells The Associated Press that Toney wants people to know she is still carrying out King's wishes.
Bryson says King's tour manager and personal assistant, Myron Johnson, also wants to acknowledge people who've expressed condolences.
Bryson says Johnson was at King's side when he died, honoring a vow to never leave King.
The lawyer says Johnson wants to be allowed to mourn in private without interference. (AP)
