Biggest Little Wing Festival Continues In Downtown Reno

Chicken wing cookers and connoisseurs are flocking to Downtown Reno this weekend for the fourth annual Biggest Little City Wing Fest.

Over 25,000 pounds of chicken wings are filling Virginia Street including from local chef, Jay Slater, of “Slater's Ding-A-Wing.”

"I put a lot of heart, soul, and a lot of passion into my wings,” said Slater.

He and other chicken wing cooks fed the masses and many came out to try some of the interesting recipes.

"Have you ever tried the chocolate peanut wings here,” asked Virendra Khambkar of Reno. “It's like Snickers. They got all kinds of wings here, every flavor imaginable."

The Wing Festival has become one of downtown's biggest festivals because of the Silver Legacy's effort to bring more wing cookers and even headliners.

"Jon Pardi will play Sunday night and he has the number one country album in America right now so that's pretty big so we think adding things likes that will draw more people,” said Sara Robbins, Silver Legacy Resort Casino.

Jon Pardi's concert is Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m.. The Biggest Little City Wing Fest in Downtown Reno continues Sunday from noon - 8 p.m. and then again on Monday, July 4, from noon - 6 p.m.
