Bishop Manogue High School Welcomes New Principal

Walking through the busy halls of Bishop Manogue Catholic High School on the first day of school, you'll find new principal, Brianne Thoreson greeting students. She's not getting the blank stares many people face when they are new. She's pretty well known.

She began at Bishop Manogue in 2003 and held several positions including teacher, coach, and administrator. She left Manogue in 2011 and went on to one of the high school's main feeder schools, Little Flower, to be principal there. This is the reason so many students recognize her.

"I got to spend 5 years with younger kiddos," said Thoreson. "Manogue has always been a part of my heart and I very much love this school, love the people in it."

While Thoreson was at Little Flower, Manogue has seen several changes in leadership. They've had 2 principals and 2 presidents in just the last five years. For Thoreson, she wants to focus her leadership on attributes that are special to being at a Catholic school.

"Have a prayer life with them [the students] that enables them to have really strong relationships."

And extending that caring mentality to teachers.

"My job is to make sure I've given the teachers everything they need to support them in that growth."
