Central California Fire Burns Structures, Spurs Evacuation

Crews are on scene of a small brush fire on the grounds of the Lockwood Regional Landfill. 

At approximately 3:00 a.m. Storey County fire, Truckee Meadows Fire and the Sparks Fire Department responded to the Lockwood Regional Landfill on report of a brush fire. Officials say the fire is approximately 50 ft x 25 ft. and it has minimal potential of spread. 

Water tenders are en route, and crews anticipate to knock down the fire shortly.Â
