North Tahoe Fire reports that burn permit suspensions have been lifted in Placer and El Dorado counties as of Monday.
Residents who have current and valid burn permits may resume burning on permissible burn days.
Burn guidelines can be found below:
- Renters must have written authorization form the property owner in their possession in order to obtain a permit
- Maximum pile size is four feet in diameter
- The are within ten feet of the outer edge of the pile must be free and clear of all flammable material and vegetation
- There must be a responsible adult in attendance with a shovel until the fire is dead out
- There must be a water supply at the burn site
- No burning is allowed unless weather conditions are considered safe
Residential burn permits can be obtained at the following locations:
North Tahoe Fire:
- Station 51 at 222 Fairway Drive in Tahoe City
- Station 52 at 288 Northshore Boulevard in Kings BeachÂ
- Station 53 at 5425 West Lake Boulevard in Homewood Â
- Station 55 at 240 Carnelian Bay Road in Carnelian Bay (staffed by Cal Fire until 12/31/2018)Â
- Station 56 at 270 Alpine Road in Alpine Meadows
Meeks Bay Fire:
 - Station 61 at 8041 Highway 89 (Emerald Bay Road) in Meeks Bay
