UPDATE: Caltrans says the roads have reopened on I-80 near Colfax. Drivers are urged to travel safely.
Caltrans says a portion I-80 is closed just west of Colfax after a semi-truck fire and small brush fire on Monday.Â
Caltrans says all eastbound lanes are now open, but I-80 westbound is still reduced to one lane at this time.
Caltrans says they expect portion of the roadway to remain closed for some time while crews continue a hazmat clean up.Â
The fire was first reported just before 9:15 a.m.Â
Traffic cameras show traffic backup near Colfax.Â
There's no immediate word on any injuries or on how fire started.Â
CAL FIRE and Placer County firefighters are assisting.Â
