Carson City Deputies say they have arrested the owner of Lake Tahoe Brewing Company on a property theft-related warrant.
Deputies say an investigation by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division showed that Michael Candelario advertised beer canning equipment for sale on a brewing industry website. The victim who owns a brewery in British Columbia Canada made an agreement with Candelario to purchase the canning equipment.  They say the victim made payments to Candelario totaling over $45,000.Â
Deputies say Candelario received the funds but he did not arrange for the canning equipment to be shipped to the victim in Canada.
The victim filed a report with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in British Columbia who forwarded the report to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.
On Monday, a warrant for Candelario was obtained from the Carson City Justice Court for theft of property.Â
Deputies say Candelario was then arrested at the former Carson City Lake Tahoe Brewing Company location at 302 North Carson Street without incident.Â
Candelario was booked into the Carson City Detention Facility.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division says it has also discovered possible additional theft or fraud victims in Carson City and other locations.Â
