Roads are slick through the Sierra today with snow likely above 6,000 feet and rain below that.
Meteorologist Angela Schilling said Saturday evening that roads have improved a ton along Interstate 80 with showers holding off to the west of Kingvale. While roads are better for now, more snow showers are possible tonight and will likely move farther east, impacting the pass. Not a ton of snow is expected with this next round, but will be enough to take it slow. A few isolated showers are possible in the Truckee Meadows as well, but roads will be fine.

Saturday evening, there are chain controls for the following roads:Â
Caltrans reports that chain controls have been lifted on I-80 through Donner Pass.
Chains are still required for all vehicles except 4-wheel drive with snow tires on Mount Rose Highway.Â
Be sure to check Caltrans or NDOT before traveling today for the most up to date road conditions.Â
