The City of Reno is beginning the process to redraw the boundaries of the city’s five wards.
The Redrawing of boundaries takes place every 10 years after the federal census, when district boundaries for federal, state, and local elected offices are redrawn to reflect new population data and shifting populations.
Residents of the city are invited to attend any of the three scheduled public meetings, where they can learn more about the process and weigh in on how the lines should be drawn.
Below you can find the public meeting schedule:
September 23 at 5:30 p.m. : Redistricting process overview (Community members must register for the virtual meeting which you can do here). Once registered, you will receive a login and call in details for the meeting.
October 7: Presentation of preliminary map options
October 21: Presentation of final map
“I encourage everyone who can to attend and to engage in the public redistricting meetings. The more Renoites participate, the better we can all help ensure our new ward boundaries best reflect the unique, diverse communities that define our great city,” Reno City Manager Doug Thornley said.
