Douglas County Deputies say DNA has identified the remains of a man found near Spooner Summit in June 2014.Â
Deputies say 32-year-old Ryan Wallace Osburn died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.Â
Deputies recovered Osburn’s remains, personal property, handgun, projectile and shell in King Canyon near Spooner Summit on June 23, 2014. They say his remains were damaged by area animals, and required DNA analysis and comparison to family members.Â
They say at the time of his death, Osburn lived in Reno and prior to that, he was from Ocala, Florida. He listed his occupation as a professional gambler.
