El Dorado County Deputies say they have arrested a South Lake Tahoe man on charges of attempted murder and carjacking after he allegedly stabbed an employee at a car dealership during a test drive. 

Deputies say the suspect, Jonathan Paget stabbed another man during a test drive at a local automotive dealership on Tahoe Mountain Road in South Lake Tahoe around 11 a.m. on Monday. 

Deputies say the victim, a 29-year-old man was able to escape the car and provide a description of the suspect, car and direction of travel to authorities. 

Deputies say another deputy heading south on Highway 89, along with CHP, saw the white Dodge Durango and started a pursuit. The driver eventually crashed into a snow berm near the county line. Paget tried to run away but was caught. 

The victim was transported to Barton Hospital in a patrol car. He is expected to survive.
