Eldorado Resorts, Inc. reports that it will invest more than $50 million to enhance properties in Reno.Â
The company reports that money will go toward renovating more than 4,100 guest rooms, nightlife, new restaurants and more at the Eldorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus. The announcement comes following Eldorado Resorts'Â agreement to acquire Capri Casinos.Â
"We've continued to reinvest in our properties," Glenn Carano, General Manager of Eldorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus said. "It's like painting the Golden Gate Bridge. Once you finish it, you have to start all over again."
Eldorado Reno will upgrade guestrooms, Bar Centro, the Fountain of Fortune at the Eldorado, and its Luxury Spa.
"That's going to be a 20,000 square foot spa, indoor-outdoor rooftop pool and then all the offerings that spas, including massages and everything, have to offer," Carano said.
The casino will also offer New York style pizza at a new restaurant called Hidden Pizza, across from Brew Brothers.
Silver Legacy will upgrade its bathrooms, Canter's Delicatessen and Rum Bullions Island Bar. The Race & Sports Book was renovated, and opened earlier this month. Its carpet will eventually extend throughout the casino floor.
"I get excited for the carpet and the carpet is absolutely fantastic, what we've picked out for the three properties," Carano said. "We've got some great investments, great opportunities here."
Circus Circus Reno will upgrade it's LED lighting outside of the casino,  guestrooms, Cafe Americana, Carnival Midway, and the Race and Sports Book. The casino will also introduce Kokopelli's Cantina, which will offer Japanese and Mexican influenced food. The Circus Circus Buffet is closed and will reopen as a food court. The Carnival Midway will also undergo extensive renovations, including moving the stage and bringing in new games and installing new flooring.
"The new midway is going to bring the kid out of you, me, grandparents, kids, everything," Carano said. "It's going to be something we'll all want to participate in."
Carano says the three-year renovation project is happening because of the economic growth in the area, saying Reno is on a roll and it is important for Eldorado Resorts, Inc. to be a part of it. He says upgrading the hotels will encourage other companies to do the same.
"As the competition keeps re-investing in their properties, like we do, Reno gets better," Carano said. "As Reno gets better, we get more people that come this way."
