Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) responded to a fatal crash Feb. 11 that left three dead and a minor in critical condition.
NHP says the crash occurred on US-93 approximately 27 miles north of Wells.
When NHP arrived, officials determined four vehicles were involved and both travel lanes were blocked.
Preliminary investigation discovered a white Dodge Ram pickup was traveling southbound on US-93 towards Wells when the pickup reportedly crossed into the other lane, swiping a U-Haul moving van and striking the front of a blue Ram pickup in the northbound lane.
The white Dodge Ram then rotated and was hit by a gray Toyota Tacoma, causing the white Dodge Ram to overturn, according to officials.
The driver of the white Dodge Ram and the two occupants of the blue Ram died on scene.
The driver of the white Dodge Ram was identified as 24-year-old Sterling Jay Price of Visalia, California.
The two deceased occupants of the blue Ram pickup were identified as 25-year-old Ramon Miguel Pena and 25-year-old Bryann Mendoza, both of Susanville, California.
Officials say an adult male passenger in the white Dodge Ram sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported from the scene. A juvenile passenger in the blue Ram pickup sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.
NHP says impairment is suspected in the crash.
US-93 was shut down from 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 11 until 12:45 a.m. on Feb. 12. NDOT closed US-93 at Jackpot and Wells.
NHP is investigating the crash and is asking anyone who was a witness to the incident or has any information regarding the crash to contact Trooper Payne at the NHP Elko Office at 775-753-1111.
