Communities in Schools of Western Nevada with KTVN Channel 2 News, Sam's Club and Nevada State Bank are holding a "Fill the Bus" school supply drive on Friday.
"Fill the Bus" is collecting school supplies to distribute to almost 3,000 students in five schools in Washoe County who are in need. You can drop off donations at Sam's Club located at 4835 Kietzke Lane on Friday, August 4 from 8 am until 5:30 pm.
Last year, they filled nine school buses statewide and they hope to fill more this year.

- Composition Books
- Notebook paper
- Pencil cases and boxes
- Highlighters
- Number 2 and Mechanical Pencils
- Pens
- Pencil Sharpeners
- Erasers
- Glue sticks
- Colored pencils
- Scissors
- Rulers
- Index Cards
- Crayons and Markers
- Tissues
- Uniforms for Middle School (or gift cards) - Plain grey or royal blue polo shirts, Plain grey or royal blue sweatpants, Plain grey or royal blue sweatshirts, an khaki or black pants for boys and girls.
If you are unable to attend the event, donations are accepted online at www.cisnevada.org/donate and your donation will directly benefit Western Nevada if you write “WNV” in the Beneficiary box.
Schools that benefit include Libby Booth and Natchez Elementary, Vaughn Middle, and Hug and Innovations High School. All five are title-one schools that Communities in Schools serves.
