Vaccines are available to anyone 6 months and older, and the event is free to the community.
The H5N1 virus was detected earlier this year in dairy cows and has spread to more than 135 herds in 12 states and infected three people to date.
Last winter's flu season was considered “moderate” overall, but it was long - 21 weeks - and the U.S. CDC estimated there were 28,000 flu-related deaths.
