Four Men Arrested in Connection to ATM Skimmer Ring in Sacramento and Reno Areas

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department says four men have been arrested in connection to an ATM skimming ring in the Sacramento and Reno areas.

Detectives say multiple skimming devices were found on ATM's in Folsom and Reno. Around 40 people had their bank account information compromised by these devices. The investigation also showed the devices were planted by the same group of individuals.

On Thursday, detectives say found a suspect in the case, and observed him entering an apartment in downtown Sacramento. He was detained along with three other men in the apartment. Detectives say they found 20 skimming devices in the apartment, as well as related equipment.

The four men were arrested and booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail. Detectives say the suspects may have also planted skimming devices at more ATM's from Arizona to Washington since December of 2018.
