Four People Taken to Hospitals After ATV Crash Near Sand Mountain Recreation Area

Four people were taken to an area hospital after a serious ATV crash at the Sand Mountain Recreation Area near Fallon on Saturday.

The Bureau of Land Management says a total of eight people were involved in the two-ATV crash, which happened around 6:45 p.m. 

The BLM tells us one person was flown by Care Flight to a hospital, while three others were transported by ambulance to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. 

There's no immediate word on the extent of injuries at this time. 

The Churchill County Sheriff's Office responded to help BLM rangers with the operation.

The BLM is leading the investigation.
