A fireworks show is planned for this Fourth of July in Stateline thanks to some help by local businesses, residents and the South Lake Tahoe Lodging Association.

After the cancellation of the Lights on the Lake fireworks show, Gardnerville resident Jonathan Ruppel started a GoFundMe page. After some time, he contacted The Shops at Heavenly Village who stepped in to help.

“Fireworks on the 4th of July are a family tradition with my family. I have been watching them since before I could walk. To keep the fireworks in Tahoe is something worth fighting for. All money raised through my Go-Fund Me will be put into making the producing the best show possible for families like mine," says Ruppel.

This year's show is scheduled to start just after 9:15 p.m. in the Stateline corridor, from atop the Michael Laub building.

The festive show is also expected to feature live music.

“We are pleased to announce that a festive fireworks display will occur on July 4th in the downtown Stateline casino area of Lake Tahoe’s South Shore, with support of local organizations including the South Lake Tahoe Lodging Association. We understand the challenges this year with executing our normal, world-renowned Lights on the Lake fireworks show, but believe that a smaller, safe fireworks experience this year at Stateline, Nevada will be to the benefit of our visiting guests and locals as we celebrate our country’s independence. We look forward to our normal famous on-lake show returning on July 4, 2022," the South Lake Tahoe Lodging Association says in a statement.

Organizers have been diligently working with the great Tahoe Douglas Fire and Douglas County Sheriff's Office to make sure all details are in order and all safety precautions are taken for next month's event.
