Hot August Nights brings all types of vintage-classic cars to Reno and some people are going home with new ones.
At the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, about 25 million dollars’ worth of cars lay around waiting for a new owner.
“We sold cars yesterday for 3k all the way to 300k," says Mike Oberle, owner of MAG Auction. With financing on the spot, selling the cars doesn’t seem to be an issue. "If someone wants to come in and get a car, they go into the office, get a badge its very simple and they are driving their dream car home,” he says.
The auction also presents a chance to give back to the community. The proceeds from the auction of this 1972 El Camino and 1964 Falcon Sprint will go to the Hot August Night’s kid’s foundation.
And for those just shopping around, buying one of those cars, vintage or modern, could be a good investment.
“These are investments you buy this car here today, you’re not going to depreciate value,” says Oberle.
Saturday is the auction's last day. From 9 A.M. to 7 P.M.
