A 1,471-acre fire burning northeast of Elko is now 50% contained. 

The Huff Fire started Tuesday about three miles north of I-80 off the Ryndon exit.

Around 130 firefighters, with support from aircraft, are actively suppressing the fire.

The fire started near Coal Mine Canyon Road and burned in grass and brush.

As of Tuesday, up to 30 nearby homes were threatened but officials say there are no evacuations at this time. One building was reported destroyed. 

The fire cause is currently under investigation.

The fire is under unified command with the Elko County Fire Protection District, BLM Elko District and Nevada Division of Forestry.
