Senior citizens got to show off their dance skills at the Intergenerational Ball at Washoe County Senior Services tonight.
Generations were brought together for the Great Gatsby-themed prom for people of all ages. There was food, drinks, live music, and dancing.
All proceeds of the event went to the Aphasia Recovery Connection, which helps people who have suffered strokes.
"We're celebrating adulthood at its many stages," said Shaii Flores with the Associated Students of Gerontology. "Nevada is one of the fastest aging states in the United States, so we can't afford to have a misinformed and segregated public. So bringing everyone together and learning from one another, we have so much to learn from one another and the only way to do that is by being open to new experiences and trail blazing together."
Flores said attendees ranged from 15 to 99 years old.
