An investigation is underway after fire broke out at a pallet yard on Bravo Avenue near Reno-Stead Airport Thursday evening.Â
The fire started shortly before 7:15 p.m.
Reno Fire says the fire is under control but not out. They said the heat from the fire was threatening the hangers at the airport, but they were not damaged.
Our crew on scene said explosions were heard coming from the yard and the pallet warehouse was a total loss.
Our crew said the wind helped fan the flames.
Citizens and business owners are asked to stay away.
Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District says they are also assisting.
NV Energy reports about 240Â customers are without power in the area due to a fire department shut down.
Our crew on scene said there were only minor injuries reported.
