Whether you played for him or against him, many of you may remember local high school football coach Joe Sellers. He led Wooster High School to seven state championships and one state championship at Monogue. Today he is winning another battle recovering from COVID-19.
He is at home with his wife Linda, and doing well.
"It really became surreal when the doctors called and put him in the ICU, my mom couldn't even stay with him, it's total isolation," says his son, Bo Seller.
Cocah Joe Sellers was in the hospital for about 4 days. They believe he got infected during a trip to New Jersey about a month ago. The symptoms began with a cough and lack of appetite, as they progressed, family members decided to take him to the hospital where he was put in the ICU and diagnosed with COVID-19. After a stressful few weeks, he is at home recovering.
"We learned one thing as Sellers family, one, my dad is a tough man still and he kicked butt with the coronavirus, two, this is a very serious thing we are facing here, and you don't realize that until it hits a family member of your own," says Seller.
Linda, his wife, has not shown any symptoms of COVID-19 during the process.
