Mindful Cupcakes is a bakery that caters to those with food allergies.  The shop on Mae Anne Avenue is hosting a new program called Disney Saturdays with movies, crafts, and gluten-free treats.  There will be an educational aspect as well.

"We're launching nutrition classes and cupcake decorating as well," said Christina Ciaccio, Owner of Mindful Cupcakes.  "What's great about this is because a lot of kids have food allergies, or we don't want them eating all that sugar, it's hard to find classes like that.  Here, you're able to decorate a gluten-free, grain-free, no refined sugar cupcake as well as our healthy frosting that is sweetened with only honey.  We use natural food colors, there's no food dye."

The theme changes every week.

"Last week, we transformed the entire back room for The Little Mermaid," said Beka Shamrock, an event planner who decorates the room for special events.  "The entire room is transformed and we're hoping to bring that to you every single weekend. It's an experience to come in and see all of this and the kids' faces are just transformed; it's something we look forward to every Saturday."

Mindful Cupcakes is launching a lunch option for kids with allergies and they hope to utilize their space for birthday parties as well.

"Everything I've made with my company is due to the necessity of my children," Ciaccio said.  "My kids love the idea of Lunchables but they're gluten free, they can't have dairy so I wanted to give them that satisfaction of taking this lunch to school or eating it at home.   Now they can and they've never been happier."

Disney Saturdays are free and open to kids of all ages.
