Local leaders experienced the career of a medical student inside the University of Nevada School of Medicine on Tuesday.
The program called "Project Medical Education" guided these individuals through a compressed syllabus of the four-year medical school in just a few short hours.
“There's a lot of information that we're processing in a very short period of time but I think what it reveals is how much more they're kind of going through and that we're just getting a glimpse of it so it's been very impressive,” says Mark Behl, CEO Renown Medical Group.
Students from the Nevada School of Medicine guided the participants through the course and showed them a first-hand experience of what they've learned in the curriculum.
Organizers hope this project will allow the participants to not only use the resources they learn in their own lives, but also to help benefit our state's health care.
"It's really important for our community to understand medical education, we think medical education is something that is an important part of our community in terms of the physician pipeline our health care workforce needs,” says Melissa Piasecki, Executive Associate Dean, School of Medicine.
