The Nevada Health Center has a mammovan to bring mammogram exams closer to women throughout the state.

Soon, the mammovan is going to stop in the Gardnerville and Reno area.

Mammography screenings are primarily for women age 40 and older but screenings will be provided to those younger than 40 who have a screening referral from a provider.

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

Early detection is key to fight against breast cancer which makes access to annual screenings critically important.

The mammovan can do 3D screenings as well and women are encouraged to check with their insurance company to see if a 3D scan is covered.

If insurance does not cover a 3D screening, there will be a $50 charge.

Women wanting to take advantage of the mammovan services should call 1.877.581.6266.Â
