Authorities have confirmed that “Glee” star Naya Rivera accidentally drowned at a Southern California lake.
Ventura County sheriff’s officials confirmed at a news conference on Monday that the body found floating in Lake Piru was the 33-year-old Rivera.
The discovery came five days after Rivera’s 4-year-old son was found asleep and alone on a rented boat.
Authorities said the following day they believed Rivera had drowned.
She is the third star of the Fox musical-comedy series “Glee” to die in their 30s.
Her death was confirmed exactly seven years after co-star Corey Monteith died.
Rivera played singing cheerleader Santana Lopez on the musical series that ran on Fox from 2009 to 2015.
Rivera appeared in 113 episodes of the series and dated co-star Mark Salling, who killed himself in 2018 after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.
