Virginia City held their annual Celebration of Heroes parade this past weekend. The holiday weekend is the start of their busy season according to the city’s tourism director, Deny Dotson.
"But really all four venues are open. We're about a one mile track here on the main drag, over 15 museums are open. Then we're going to start mixing in all these unique special events to Virginia City, like the Fourth of July, Camel Races, Outhouse Races, Hot August Nights will be here the last week of July for their kick-off party. It's a great time of year. We're ready and open for business," says Dotson.
Memorial Day weekend is one of the best days to visit the city and learn all about their history.
