Fallon Celebrates Nevada's 150 Birthday Festival

In observance of the Silver State’s 152nd Birthday, Sparks City Hall (431 Prater Way) will be closed on Friday, October 28, 2016. This includes the City Attorney’s Office located at City Hall, and the Sparks Municipal Court (1450 C St.).

Additionally, the Sparks Parks & Recreation Office located at 98 Richards Way will be closed including Alf Sorensen Community Center (1400 Baring Blvd.) and Larry D. Johnson Community Center (1200 12th St.).

From City of Reno:

The City of Reno administrative offices at Reno City Hall (1 East First Street) will be closed on Friday, October 28, 2016 in observance of Nevada Day. This includes the Community Development department and City Attorney's Office.

The Reno Municipal Court (1 South Sierra Street) will also be closed on October 28.

All City of Reno recreation facilities are closed except for Northwest and Idlewild Pools, which will be open during their normal hours. For more information about recreation facilities, call 775-334-2262.

Most Washoe County administrative offices will be closed in observance of Nevada Day, Friday, Oct. 28, 2016. 

The following will be closed:

  • Administrative offices at the Washoe County Complex on Ninth St. in Reno.
  • Washoe County Senior Services and the congregate meal sites.
  • All Washoe County libraries will be closed Friday, Oct. 28, in observance of Nevada Day. Downtown Reno and Spanish Springs libraries will also be closed Thursday, Oct. 27.  Please go to www.washoecountylibrary.us to place a hold, renew a checkout, and download eBooks, research databases and more.
  • The Washoe County District Court.
  • The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office.
  • Reno Justice Court, Sparks Justice Court, Incline Village Justice Court and Wadsworth Justice Court.
  • The Second Judicial District Court.
  • The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office.
  • The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office - all administrative offices.
  • The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office reception/front desk.
  • Regional Animal Services Shelter Operations and Office will be closed, but field operations will continue as normal.

The following will be open:          

  • The office of the County Clerk at the Washoe County Complex on Ninth St. and Wells Ave. in Reno will remain open throughout the holiday from 8 a.m. to midnight for the issuance of marriage licenses, fictitious firm names and notary bond filings, as well as property tax payments for the Treasurer’s Office.

From Regional Transportation Commission of washoe County:

The RTC’s administrative offices will be closed in observance of Nevada Day, Friday, October 28th. All transit services will continue on a regular schedule. Passenger Services will remain open from 7 am to 7 pm and may be reached by calling: (775) 348-RIDE.
