Governor Brian Sandoval declared Thursday in Nevada Dense Breast Tissue Awareness Day - and a local organization is spreading that message in a gigantic way.
Each One. Tell One. held a press conference Thursday to unveil a huge 60 foot RTC bus wrapped in pink and white polka dots.
The bus, sponsored by Renown Health, will travel the Virginia Street Corridor on 7,000 trips a day educating women that if they have dense breast tissue, mammography is not enough of an exam for you.
“It's actually a personal journey for me and this is amazing for our community to have RTC and all our area hospitals. EOTO is going to launch a campaign this October, it's starting today, so we are thrilled,” says Heather Reimer, Founder, Each One Tell One.
“The treatments were six treatments once every 3 weeks. They last 4 hours, 4 and a half hours, but I am here and that's the main thing we found it, found it and hopefully it will never come back,” says breast cancer survivor Marquita Gauereau.
Each One. Tell One. is providing every hospital and doctor's office with a toolkit to expand their dense breast tissue awareness and make sure every woman knows how to talk to her doctor about dense breast tissue.
