The recently opened Reno Provisions is giving locals the opportunity to present their very own culinary talents. Coordinator, Jessica Pauletto says there are no limits as to what people will be able to do.
“It also allows people to come in, local chefs, anyone who has food knowledge and passion, who wants to showcase their product here,” says Pauletto.
On Sunday, Reno residents Donna and Samantha Amato were the first to put their products on the Reno Provisions shelves. Donna Amato has always been passionate about cooking food. She has also been a long-time friend of Reno Provisions owner, Mark Estee.When he called her and told her that he wanted Amato's Family Kitchen products on the Reno Provision shelves, she jumped on the opportunity.
Donna's business all started when she won “best of show” during the 2013 Nevada State Fair for her strawberry jam. When people started asking how they could purchase her jams, she partnered with her daughter and they started their own company.
Her jams, relishes and jarred fruit are used across town in restaurants such as The Atlantis Steakhouse and her jams are hosted at William Sonoma on the third Saturday of every month.
She says she is appreciative of all the help from local artisan businesses like Reno Provisions.
“It supports so many of us in this community and that's what Reno is so great about,” says Amato.
