A man arrested after barricading himself in an RV outside the Sam's Club on Kietzke Lane Tuesday had multiple warrants and told officers he had a gun before barricading himself.
Just before 9:20 a.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance call involving a man identified as Raymond Carra.
According to a release from RPD, when officers contacted the man involved in the disturbance he retreated into the RV while telling officers he had a gun.
The Reno Police negotiations team and SWAT team responded to assist based on the threat.
Meanwhile, officers learned that Carra had a felony warrant for assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, failing to appear, escape, and possession of a controlled substance, as well as a misdemeanor warrant out of Elko.
Negotiators tried to talk Carra out of the RV but he refused to speak with them according to the release.
SWAT officers conducted an operation and took Carra into custody.
Once in custody, Carra was taken to the hospital to be treated as he had reportedly consumed a large amount of drugs and alcohol during the standoff.
Carra was arrested for domestic battery, resisting arrest, and the outstanding warrants.
