Update (12/19/24, 7:25 a.m.):

Bass Camp Festival and its former CEO Paul Reder have been dismissed from a sex trafficking lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court, per a Notice of Dismissal filed Dec. 13.

The filing also dismisses several of Reder’s associates named in the suit.

However, the lawsuit is still moving forward with defendants Columbia Sussex Corporation and Columbia Sussex Management, the owners and operators of the Horizon Casino Resort. The anonymous plaintiff claims that he lived and worked in the casino-resort while being sex trafficked.

ORIGINAL STORY (10/31/24, 2:33 p.m.):

The former president and CEO of Bass Camp is accused of trafficking a teenage boy through the Tahoe Basin.

If you're not familiar with the company - Bass Camp hosts electronic dance music festivals—also know as EDM festivals—across Reno and Tahoe.

In a lawsuit filed in August, the alleged victim accuses former company president Paul Reder of repeatedly sexually assaulting him over the course of several years starting when he was 17.

The victim's name is not released in the lawsuit - he's identified as John Doe.

His lawyers also claim in the lawsuit that he wasn't the only teenage boy that Reder coerced into sex acts.

In a social media post last week, Bass Camp announced that Reder has stepped down from his position as CEO, and has since been replaced.

A representative of Mr. Reder provided the following statement:

"We fully deny these allegations and are promptly filing a motion to dismiss this civil case in its entirety, which we are confident the court will grant.

The allegations are alleged to have occurred over a decade ago by a former employee, and Paul Reder denies them and is focused on fully defending himself in court.

In order for him to focus his efforts on defeating these allegations, effective immediately, Nick Rogers will be taking over the leadership role for Bass Camp and all of its concert and festival properties.
