Containment on the Coyote Fire burning in El Dorado County has reached 90%, according to CAL FIRE’s Amador-El Dorado Unit in a final scheduled update posted Wednesday at 6:45 a.m.
The fire, which started in a remote area with rough terrain and limited access, has burned 624 acres. Evacuation warnings for the Somerset area were lifted last week.
Officials say crews continue to secure containment lines, check for remaining hot spots, and carry out fire suppression and repair.
People traveling near the area are asked to use caution, as firefighters and emergency personnel remain active.
In its online post, CAL FIRE thanked the community for the encouragement shown through handmade signs displayed in the area.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
