Dense Smoke Advisories are in effect for Lyon and Mineral Counties until 11 a.m. Tuesday.Â
The smoke we're seeing is from the lightning-sparked Garnet Fire in the Sierra National Forest. The 36,451 acre is currently 14% contained. More than 2,000 personnel are working to contain the fire.Â
Air quality will also become a concern for Douglas and Esmeralda counties.
If you are sensitive to the air quality, stay indoors and limit strenuous outdoor activity.
Winds will pick up this afternoon and hopefully clear out some of that haze.
