Authorities are cleaning up after a semi-truck hauling Tesla batteries rolled over onto I-80 west near Hirschdale early Monday morning.
Thankfully, no one was hurt, but cleanup will take some time.
Caltrans District 3 in an online post says that because the westbound lane is still closed close to Boca, the backup along I-80 has extended past Mystic to the Sierra County line. Westbound I-80 near Hirshdale is down to one lane as of 1 p.m.
On the Floriston camera, traffic shows to be flowing steadily and slowly, but delays are still anticipated. Authorities have no estimated time for reopening the roadways.
Update: Backup along I-80 has reached the Sierra County line past Mystic, due to the WB lane that remains blocked near Boca. Traffic is moving slowly and steady on Floriston camera but delays are still expected. No ETO. https://t.co/LSozgwIx5b pic.twitter.com/6b8djBin3D

There's no immediate word on what caused the rollover, which happened around 5 a.m.
Last August, a Tesla semi-truck caught fire on I-80 east near Emigrant Gap. The roadway was shut down for most of the day. The NTSB sent a team of investigators from the Office of Highway Safety, mainly to look into fire risks posed by lithium-ion batteries.
No one was hurt in this crash.
