TRICARE beneficiaries in Washoe County can receive emergency prescription refills through September 3 because of the Hawk Fire, the Defense Health Agency announced.

To get a refill, beneficiaries should take their prescription bottle to any TRICARE retail network pharmacy. If the bottle is unavailable or its label is damaged or missing, they can contact Express Scripts, Inc., or their retail network pharmacy for help.

Beneficiaries can find a network pharmacy by calling Express Scripts at 1-(877) 363-1303 or using the network pharmacy locator. When possible, they should visit the pharmacy where the prescription was originally filled. Prescriptions filled at a retail chain may be filled at another store in the same chain.

If the clinician who prescribed the medication is available, beneficiaries can also ask that clinician to call in a new prescription to any network pharmacy.

TRICARE beneficiaries who are not active duty service members also can receive urgent care from any TRICARE-authorized urgent care center or provider without a referral. That allows them to seek nonemergency care for illnesses or injuries when their primary care provider is unavailable because of emergencies.

Anyone who reasonably believes they have an emergency should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Beneficiaries are advised to check Express Scripts' Weather Notices page for updates.
