A strong thunderstorm with up to 50 mph winds is heading for the Gerlach area.
The National Weather Service in Reno issued a special weather statement on the storm, saying it could carry nickel-sized hail and that winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
The storm will impact mainly rural areas, the NWS said.
