Three people have been indicted - two from Nevada - after withdrawing more than $900,000 in unemployment benefits from ATMs.

A report released by the U.S. Attorney's Office Tuesday details the charges against 41-year old Ricky Lee Ware and 28-year old Kimberly Ann Wallace of Las Vegas and 44-year old Carlos Lee Sanchez of Sacramento, CA.

According to court documents, between July 2020 and January 2021 the trio conspired to obtain debit cards that would allow them to withdraw money from unemployment benefits.

The debit cards and benefits were in the names of people who did not know the defendants.

The three would then use the ill-gotten debit cards to withdraw over $900,000 from ATMs.

Sanchez was also found to own a Ruger-57 handgun, which he is prohibited from owning due to a prior conviction.

If the three are convicted of conspiracy, they face a maximum penalty of 7.5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

They have also been charged with access device fraud, and if convicted face a max sentence of 15 years and a potential $250,000 fine.

Sanchez faces a possible max of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted for possession of the gun.

The charges are only allegations; the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
