A number of chain controls are in place in the Sierra as more winter weather moves through the area.

Chains are required on I-80 from California 89 to Drum Forebay Road and on California 89 from Eagle Falls to Tahoma, as well as on California 28 from California 89 to Lake Forest Road.

Chains are also needed on Mt. Rose Highway from Old Mt. Rose Highway to Diamond Peak and on California 88 from California 89 to Dew Drop Bypass, as well as on US-50 from California 89 to Kyburz.

Chains or snow tires are needed on California 89 from I-80 to Tahoe City and from Tahoe City to Tahoma. They are also required on California 28 from Lake Forest Road to the Nevada border.

Chains or snow tires are also needed on California 89 from Hobart Mills Road to Sierraville.

California 89 is closed from Valhalla Road to Eagle Falls.
