An event to raise awareness for domestic violence is happening Saturday evening at the Believe sign in Downtown Plaza.

Marsy's Law for Nevada is hosting the event along with the Domestic Violence Resource Center, which will feature speakers, resources and a vigil for all victims of domestic violence.

It will run from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Marsy's Law for Nevada is taking part in several events throughout the month. The organization is urging people to wear purple in October to shine a light on domestic violence.
